Hickory-Conover Tourism Development Authority provides oversight, leadership and primary funding of the Hickory Metro Convention Center (HMCC) and the Hickory Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau (HMCVB) to develop and promote tourism, conventions and meetings in the Greater Hickory area through a coordinated sales and marketing effort.

The Hickory Metro Convention Center is very important to the region, and is considered the premier location for conferences and meetings. It is very conveniently located along Interstate 40, within easy walking distance of many hotels and restaurants. The Convention Center is 76,000 square feet and it can accommodate crowds of up to 3,800, with free parking.
