Maiden, North Carolina

Incorporated in 1883, Maiden is a lovely Historic town. There are several stories regarding the town’s name, but it is generally agreed that it took its name from Maiden Creek. The creek was called this because at the head springs, there grew a species of bushy cane called “Maiden Cane”. Pioneer James Caldwell insisted that the creek, and therefore the town, be named after this plant.

Maiden is located in the southernmost portion of Catawba County. It has an extremely low crime rate, and it is not uncommon to see the sidewalks brimming with people taking night strolls through town.

Maiden is home to the new Apple Data Center. This data center brings with it $1 billion in investments, and many new jobs. The town beat stiff competition to bring this data center to our region.
