Hickory’s Oktoberfest is a three-day, outdoor festival on the second weekend in October. It features three stages of non-stop live entertainment, from polka to rock and roll. There are amusement rides, and carnival games. There is a juried arts and craft show and hundreds  of  commercial vendors.

Oktoberfest features 2 Beer Gardens where patrons can choose from a wide variety of adult beverages served by the Hickory Jaycees. Both Beer Gardens feature live music.

Oktoberfest is also known for is food. There are 70 varieties of food, from international favorites like brats and Bavarian pastries to BBQ and chicken pot pie. It’s common to see people walking around with giant turkey legs, and funnel cakes the size of their heads.

Oktoberfest is the largest festival in the county, and its amazing how many people come each year. There are things to do for all ages. Kids can ride wonderful rides, and the whole family can have caricatures drawn, and browse fine crafts on the square.
